I hope you enjoy this introductory guide I created for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Mental Health Month. As a woman and mental health provider of color, it is my passion to help make the field of mental health more inclusive and accessible to all.
July provides us with an opportunity to learn from each other and examine how we can promote equitable and culturally-sensitive mental health care for diverse communities. We’re also reminded that we must acknowledge the unique needs of BIPOC and queer and trans BIPOC (QTBIPOC) not only in July, but year-round!
